Modeling evolutionary, collaborative, and multi-faceted knowledge artifacts

See main article at State Of The Art/Modelling knowledge artifacts

Task 1.1 State of the art in modeling evolutionary, collaborative, and multi-faceted knowledge artifacts (M1-M6, UNITN, CSIC). Review of iphone photography existing approaches to modeling and storing complex digital objects and their evolutions. Software versioning systems, wikis, and document repositories are example of such systems.

Process models and licensing and copyright models

See main article at Process models and licensing and copyright models

Task 2.1. State of the art in process models and in copyright and licensing models. This task will review the current practices in licensing of content in various areas, from software to art to scientific creation in general. It will also review approaches to copyright management. (M1-M9, CNRS, UNITN)

Peer review and review metrics

See main article at State Of The Art/Peer review and review metrics

Task 3.1. State of the art on analysis of reviews and modeling of reviewers’ behavior in peer review. (M1-M6, UNIFR, UNITN). This task reviews two lines of research: one includes efforts that analyzes review processes in various scientific fields, while the other looks at existing approaches to modeling reviewers‟ behaviors. Besides peer reviews and reviewers, the study also touches upon how reviews are done in other related fields where creative content is produced, such as evaluation of software artifacts, pictures, or movies. The task also identifies metrics for “good” review and review processes, and how to measure them.

Computational trust and reputation models and social network analysis

See main article at State Of The Art/Trust Reputation And Social Network Analysis

Task 4.1 State of the art in computational trust and reputation models and social network analysis. (M1-M6, CSIC) Study of the latest computational trust and reputation models presented in the area and deeper analysis of those models that are relevant for our scenario, that is, models that take into account the social dimension and models associated to web rating like Pagerank or similar. Search for relevant works on social network analysis that can be useful in computational trust and reputation models.

Innovative publisher services for liquid publications

Task 6.1 – State of the art in Innovative publisher services for liquid publications. (M6-M30, SPRI). This task examines how the publishing industry can be affected by the transition to a liquid publication model. Specifically, we analyze the industry value chain in the current publication model and we identify innovative services that publishers can offer to the scientific community, to add value and hence generate business for them.
