User Types and Roles

The following are all the proposed user types and some of their roles.

It is assumed that all administrators are known and assigned before the creation of the first document

Visitors

  • Leave comments: leave comments about the contents but without modifying it.
  • Apply to become Authors: depending on the platform it may be done just sending a request to an admin

Authors

  • Leave comments: same as visitors
  • Modify contents: this includes adding, deleting and modifying content in the document

Administrators

  • All the roles from authors: administrators also have all roles that Authors have
  • Creation of first version: the creation of a new document, after this authors and other administration are allowed to modify them.
  • Manage changes: decide which changes are going to be commited and which ones are to be undone
  • Manage authors: decide who becomes an Author, who stops being one and the level of authorship of each

General Guidelines

These are general guidelines that should be followed for the use and editing of this wiki. Most likely these guidelines will have to be kept as project-specific as possible since the wiki help and guidelines already covers a great deal of good practices and rules for editing wikis.

The position of this page is also debatable as the General Help Page for the wiki can be used if there is only one Subject or Project being implemented by using this wiki platform
